Dating back to 1000 AD, pre Incan civilizations placed tree branches in a clay pot to collect condensation for use as drinking water 

Transpiration Trap

Survivalists can collect drinking water by attaching a clear plastic bag to a tree and collecting moisutre that escapes the leaves

Seawater Still

A seawater still contains salt water within an enclosed space and directs evaporated fresh water to recondense at a fixed point
